The online lessons are on Monday and Wednesday 17:00-20:00 (Greece time). You can participate in any lesson you want (Monday or Wednesday, once a week, or Monday and Wednesday etc). The precondition for participation is to have a smartphone connected to a wifi network.
How does it work; You watch a video lesson and sketch or draw what the video describes up to the point that I have given you instructions. You photograph you work and sent to me as a photo on viber, I correct it, comment on it by writing a massage, not with a video call, and send it back to you. I am sending the correction I will make to the photo of your work in a photo so that you can see it and apply it to your project. If you want to ask something during the course, you send me a text message online. Our communication during the course will be through photos of your work and text messages, not video calls or voice calls. The price of each course is 15 euros. The course is prepaid. (Payment can be made by bank transfer, e-banking at alpha Bank, Eurobank or Piraeus or pay pal)

Icon painting workshop not online
Visit Greece and participate in a byzantine icon painting workshop with the Greek iconographer Babis Pilarinos in Athens.
There are two types of workshops. It’s a small one that it’s about three hours and a big one that it’s about 5 hours.
The theme and in the two workshops is the same, to paint a byzantine face. Only at the small workshop you do these with color pencils and you take a small taste of all the technique.
The big workshop is conducted with egg tempera in the same traditional way as was the case in the Byzantine times. In this workshop, the person that participates will paint an icon, using paints made from egg yolk and colour powders. At the end of the workshop the memder will have completed the icon.
These workshops are suitable for people with no previous experience in painting, as well as for amateur or professional painters who wish to study the byzantine art genre.
Lessons are stand-alone, which means that during the course, each participant will be able to fully complete an icon.
Everything needed -canvases, brushes, easels, colours, etc.- are provided by the atelier. The Workshop lessons are in English.
The cost for the short workshop is 80€ for one person, or for 2 persons 100€, for 3 persons 120€ and 4 persons 140€. For bigger groups please contact the artist. The price includes 3 hours of workshop and all necessary materials (no need to bring anything).

Babis Pilarinos was born on Zakynthos in 1966. He paints, illustrates children’ s books, paints portable icons and frescoes in churches. He teaches Byzantine painting on Zakynthos, in Paris, in Athens at his “Atelier Pilarinos” and in “Austrian Summer Academy in Greece” http://www.sommerakademie.at
