Andrew Karkavitsas house
In the summer of 2011, the Settlers Society of the Lehena Beach, in the Prefecture of Ilia, demolished a house near the beach, built at the beginnig of the 20th century by the family of the Greek author Andreas karkavitsas. A humble, one storey house, drowned in oleanders, close to the sand. There Andreas Karkavitsas used to spend the summer, there Grigorios Xenopoulos enjoyed Karkavtsas’ hospitality. This was the place where the scholars of the region were visiting him, white-suited, with their straw hats on, lovely and cool, in their common, literary aspirations and griefs.
